Shoutout to the Line & Coach for the 6-0 start. When things go bad, all you hear is “when will ISU have a Big 12 line” or “why does our line always suck”. The insertion of the Princeton transfer has been key to the solid run game and passing success for Rocco. No interceptions, no turnovers, no or few penalties, different RB’s having good numbers are all reflections of good O-line play, chemistry and coaching. Keep rolling CyHogs!

Last night was my wet dream of a sleeper hold finish. Grinding out first downs and burning clock by shoving it down their throat. Against a team that was expected to do that to us. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen late game rushing success like that. Bravo Clanton; bravo Mouse; bravo hogmollies up front; bravo Carson.

When grades are posted for the OL. I understand the DL and OL coaches study tendencies etc of their opponents. But, are pro gradings looked at for maybe additional points of review towards their opponents lines/positions??

Travis has made a few mistakes, but overall he has been solid at left tackle. Hanson has had most of his success running to the left side, behind Travis. We usually give up right around 1 sack per game during most seasons while the run blocking struggles. I think we have allowed 5 sacks in 6 games, and the run blocking is slightly better than usual. Still a lot of runs going for no gains, short gains, and even losses, but the line does look to be improving. I am kinda hoping Buhr takes over the starting left guard spot.

I’m no expert, but the difference I see is that when everyone knows that a run is coming, we are generally still able to move the ball, and that’s without an obviously generational talent at RB. They may not be perfect, but I think this is the best line of the Campbell era.

I somewhat agree. Against WVU, Jackson wasn't able to get any holes and Sama was non-existent. We didn't have any long runs, but Hanson hits the holes so fast (giggity) that he was able to carve up their D with 8-10 yard runs, especially in the red zone.

The line still has a ways to go, but they have been getting better every week.
