Alright, back to the games. Are we rooting for WV or ND? I would like to see 4 Big XII teams in the Sweet 16.

I only hate WV when we play them (and when some of the vocal fans are whining about how they're such an outpost that they have to travel so far to compete in this conference when this conference did them a huge favor bringing them in). Otherwise they're a good representative of this conference and I want them to succeed.

If Baylor wasn't so busy being Baylor, I'd feel the same about them as well.

KU is really the only school I outright despise (in basketball, anyway) and I want to see humiliated in the tournament.

I am saying that this group of Cyclones has won just as much as Boo U at the sprint center. I am reluctant to count 3 Big XII tourney championships as 'exhibition' games as well. And our record in head to head meetings at the sprint center over the 4 years is even as well. And we just beat them the last time we met at their place.

Please elaborate some more on the how big KUs advantage is?
How big is any homecourt advantage? KU did win at Hilton and we won at AFH.

But the contention was on relative magnitude. If you recall, someone compared South Carolina as the 10 getting to play near campus in the first round to ISU as the 5 playing in KC in the Sweet 16. Clearly ISU's "advantage" is less than USC's due it being the later round, but also from the fact KU is even closer to KC than ISU and KU will undoubtedly have more fans there than MU had against South Carolina. And yes, I do think KU playing in KC is one of the biggest homecourt advantages in the tournament, however consequential that is to outcomes.

I'm not going to look into it deep enough to see if they have regular season victories there.

KU:
2017: 0-1
2016: 3-0
2015: 2-1
2014: 1-1
2013: 3-0
2012: 1-1
2011: 3-0
2010: 3-0

Cumulative 16-4 (9-3 since 2013). ISU is responsible for half of those losses (TCU and K-State the other 2)

ISU:
2017: 3-0
2016: 0-1
2015: 3-0
2014: 3-0
2013: 1-1
2012: 0-1
2011: 0-1
2010: 0-1

Cumulative: 10-5 (10-2 since 2013)

Before that it was making the Oklahoma-Texas tour

Absolutely stunning advantage for the boo birds. What will we do?!

like it or Not, Jayhawks are the brand ambassador for the BIG 12 , until the other teams step up and win some regular season titles. When KU is beaten badly in the tourney by a non BIG 12 team, it puts a bad stench on the whole big 12.

I want Big 12 to beat ACC in every situation. The only Big 12 team I don't want to win is KU and that is because it benefits ISU. The so called "Best Conference in history":

  • Was rated lower than the Big 12 this year in almost every rating
  • Had the same percentage of teams in the tournament (60%)
  • Had fewer teams in Round of 64 - 53% vs. 60%
  • Is 0-1 (and soon to be 0-2) vs. Big 12 in head-to-head matchups
  • Has the same percentage of teams in the Round of 32 - 40%
