Official ISU vs Missouri Game Thread

Roughing the passer. It was a close call, but the right one, IMO.
Lameness.

Anyway... I'm still pissed that when a play is going to be reviewed that we don't replay it. Is it a Big 12 rule or something? I know it's not NCAA because the Iowa fans reacted to the replay while one was being reviewed today.

It was shown once, but if I were to guess, it was our doing and not some rule. The production quality of the closed circuit system is just plain horrible. Whether it be missing the shot, showing half the shot, or whatever, it's painful to watch. I can say with the utmost confidence that we would all be much better off if we just piped the live TV feeds to the big screen.

No, that would not be a penalty if Mizzou was hitting AA. They had a much worse one later if I remember right. I don't think the Tigers had a penalty in the first half.

It was roughing the passer. Apperently they hit his head or something... I was listening on the radio but John Walter had it called before the Ref did

They didn't.

One of their defenders picked A-Rob up and bent him backwards after the whistles had blown the play dead. No flag.

For those of you who watched the game on TV.......when the officials picked up the flag that looked like it was going to go against us for a helmet to helmet hit in the first half.....what did it look like on the replays? I thought for sure they were going to call it on us considering two officials threw their flags on it.

It was a clean hit.

I'd say the good news is AA had his best game, the pass coverage was tighter, we didn't quit, we had no injuries, Mahoney pulled through, and the announcers were on our side. The bad news is we can't run up the middle and our tackling is only suitable for flag football.

One big thing I noticed.

We don't disguise our blitzes very well. There were several plays where Chase Daniel lined the offense up, scanned it, then went to a fake count, saw out middle and outside linebacker come up to blitz, and then changed the play. You could see him hold up his fists to his receivers, he was changing the play to throw to the hot route receiver on a slant. Every one of those audibles was successful for them, and one produced a 40-some yard TD.

My concern here is not that they know the blitz is coming....but why aren't we able to have OUR defense check out of the blitz when they see that the offense knows its coming and has changed THEIR play accordingly? We got burned on that all freaking night long.

Haven't read through 24 pages, but I noticed Sedrick Johnson didn't play (or at least didn't have a catch). Is he hurt?

I guess I just dont understand how people can expect earth shaking changes in 2 years. Im not patient by any means, but Im not ready to panic until year 3, and I definately am not ready to wonder about our coach until after year 4.

I wasn't expecting earth shaking success in year 2 but I certainly was hoping for some progress and this season by far has been worse than last year's and that's with a weaker schedule too.
