As far as leadership goes, there really aren't any upperclassman leaders and thats been pretty evident this season. A lot of younger players ive heard from say they are dedicated to being here and are here for a reason so i feel confident that some of them will step up next year as leaders since they had significant parts in this year. I also think some of the lack of leadership just comes with the seniors here now havent really been on a team that accomplished a whole lot so theres just not that winning mentality take is as you want but i think there will be an attitude change next year for the better.
Tell that to Kurtis Taylor or RJ Sumrall and I think you're in for a rude awakening.:skeptical:
Don't remember the exact number, but 46000+. Not too shabby considering our record and the weather. Probably the best crowd we've had in awhile for our last game in a bad season. Don't remember the crowd for the last game last year however.

You don't think these guys are leaders?
Ok i dont mean to say they arent trying, im not saying anyone is slacking, but if you think otherwise who is a natural leader among the upperclassmen? I think some of those guys have been put into that position. Im not trying to call anyone out as far as players go (effort etc) because there are still people playing hard (young and old) i just dont see any real leaders out there. If anyone thinks otherwise i would like to see who you think is, and maybe i would agree idk i just dont see it
I dont look at their stats as far as being a leader goes. True, a lot of leaders on teams tend to be some of their better standout performers, but not necessarily vice versa. These guys have had great careers at isu but as far as being a true leader i just dont see it but thats just my perspective. Im not saying RJ and Kurtis are bad players, because they aren't I just dont see them as rallying leaders.

Just because they lead in stats doesn't mean they're a team "leader." There's a lot more to being a "leader" than just being good at playing your position.
Have you ever heard of leading by example?
I'm dumbfounded that some of our own fans don't think these guy who obviously have worked their butt's off are not leaders?
So the only way you'd consider any of these guys leaders is if the team wins?
I'm not so sure we gained anything by making a coaching change. 5 wins in 2 seasons not exacting improvement.
True leading by example is leading, i agree with that. And i agree that they have worked their butts off while at ISU, that is evident by the stats you provided earlier. No im not saying they would or wouldnt be considered leaders judged by wins and losses, im just saying they dont seem to have that intangible genetic makeup or whatever you would like to call it of being a leader. We just seem to be missing that somewhere in the whole mix of things this year. whether that would change the w's and l's idk but that element from the team just seems to not be there when we need it most this year
the truth hurts... this is not what we all thought would happen when we made the change. lets hope year 3 is better than this

But that plastic cover that you have to lift before you can hit the panic button? I've lifted that up.
If there isn't significant improvement shown next season......well, its going to be tough to continue justifying buying season tickets when I can just pick and choose games to go to and buy them cheaper than face value outside of the stadium beforehand.
I guess I just dont understand how people can expect earth shaking changes in 2 years. Im not patient by any means, but Im not ready to panic until year 3, and I definately am not ready to wonder about our coach until after year 4.
Earth shaking changes would be possible if the program's problems were primarily coaching realated. But here, they're not - they're talent related.
IMO we were three good defensive players away from a much different result this season.
I think we would get flagged quite a bit if we played 14 guys on defense.
That being said, I agree with what you are trying to say. A talented DT, outside LB and Safety would make a huge difference. 7 win team IMHO.
After watching the game live all I can say is that it just looks like the tools aren't quite there yet. Our linebackers aren't quick enough yet to drop back into pass coverage and our safeties/corners are taking a beating because of it. Our D-line is not able to penetrate on a consistent basis which doesn't help either.
Offensively I think it all starts/ends up front. The pass protection was not the greatest but half-way decent. The run blocking was not good. I'm tired of people yelling for us to run it up the middle in goal line situations because with the line getting pushed back so much it becomes nearly impossible to stuff it down the throat like many want.
I think our coaches are doing just fine calling the game to be blunt. I do think they are a little hamstrung by the talent on the field but from the recruits we've been getting they are attempting to solve that problem. The biggest areas I want our team to improve on from now till the next home game is run-blocking, defensive penetration, and linebacker play.

Alright. I did not hear the call at the game tonight, but why was LJ's INT nullified? Was it a PI? Is that the only call that can nullify an INT?
