We didn't blow them out because we continue to be a turnover disaster waiting to happen. It will cost us a game or two. Please don't let it be this week.

Do not discount the phantom whistle theory. And I am not talking about the whistle that blew to signal that play could resume. It is a little known fact that Herky likes Nachos with onions. Well he has some before kickoff and got a little gassy. He was really feeling it during the "4th" onside kick and instead of just letting it loose, he tried to squeeze it out in the silent but deadly mode and it made a whistle which apparently froze the hoks during the kick. It was so loud that "fans" hundreds of feet away heard it and blamed it on the refs. The Herky costume has been sent to the cleaners.

No mention of the no-call on the CMU 2-point conversion?? EIU fans that want to point to bad officiating might keep in mind that it went both ways. EIU could have easily been called for pass interference on that one.

Well, duh, it's only the calls that go against Iowa that are the bad ones. Sheesh, it's so obvious.

Actually, a lot of teams' fanbases are this way, but Hawk fans take it to a new level. I had a discussion with an Iowa fan after we beat them, where he called it a "mostly self-inflicted loss," saying if they just wouldn't have dropped those eleventy-billion passes they would have trounced the Cyclones easy. It's like those three turnovers we had at the Iowa goal line never happened, or better yet, were ordained to happen regardless of how good or bad the Hawkeyes played. I tried to convince him that if you give the Hawks their catches, and give us our turnovers, we win by 31-17 or so. Like talking to a post.

And it's just so unfair they wouldn't let Iowa decline the delay penalty! They should change the rules when Iowa is up by 2 points on a MAC team in the last 45 seconds! Waaaaaaah!
