I am thinking the old SMU boosters are starting to do what they used to do in the 80's. Which is legal now. Iowa State makes the most sense in my opinion if it were ten years ago. With the whole NIL deal though it don't matter if it makes sense to me. It matters if the kid can earn some money.
You want the short-term Tyrese Hunter money or you want a coach and program that can get you to the NBA where you have a chance to earn generational wealth? Im sure he'd have a pretty decent NIL deal here as well.

Hunter wasn’t getting to the league if he stayed either so that really isn’t a factor. Hate to burst your bubble but neither is Lipsey. NBA is about projectable production . Neither have it for the next level.

Lipsey isn't going to be a first round pick, but there are a lot of guys like him that are picked in the 2nd round that have a chance. Jevon Carter one example, Jamal Shead was a 2nd round pick for the Raptors. Cyclone examples being Niang, Morris, Nader.

People said that about Niang and Morris as well. 10 year careers and tens of millions of dollars later...hate to burst your bubble. Tamin Lipsey could be a damn nice backup point guard in the league for years.

ISU, OU, & SMU. Really haven’t heard much about ISU recently but still top 3.

I read the On3 article. I know I shouldn’t make assumptions based on his comments, but everything he said he wants in a program is what he says about ISU. He doesn’t mention his connections with our coaches though like he does OU. I am guessing he is going there.

I don’t think ISU is recruiting him. It’s OU or SMU.

I don't think we get him but he still has us on the list for some reason. So we must still be recruiting him a bit.
Fully believe Kai will be going to OU. The staff hasn't prioritized him sense he left Wisc for the prep school.

That said part of recruiting in this Transfer age is to maintain the relationships for when a player hits the portal in a couple of years.
Best strategy for Bigs in this era actually, let Kai develop (and get paid) for 2 years on OU's bench and then re-recruit him if he wants a better opportunity in a couple of years.

Tamin could be the "Good Guy" version of Patrick Beverly- a defensive mined guard that is just relentless.
