Didn’t know where else to put this. Did ISU attempt to recruit Payton Sandfort? Are we recruiting his younger brother? I live out of state so don’t know much about Iowa preps but the older one seems pretty talented.

Pretty sure we did NOT attempt to recruit him. He's a skilled player and good shooter, but is limited athletically IMO. He will struggle defensively against real competition. Of course that is kind of the Fran standard at this point. Goofy, lanky, white guys who can shoot but can't defend to save their lives. Then proceed to get obliterated against real high level athletes.

I would take a Payton Sandfort.

Thanks for the reply, he looked fairly good defensively to me tho that was against lessor competition. We’ll see; hopefully he’ll be exposed defensively on 12/9.

He looks pretty raw but seems to have good hands and good footwork. I’d take him.

I could see this kid cracking Rivals 150 or 247 list next year or being a strong three star. He is almost 7 ft and fairly athletic. Kyle Green and DRob could work with him to add some polish.
