They were pretty dinged up last year, fully healthy they will be an average NFL line. They were good enough to be a playoff team, but couldn’t stop anything. There had 3-4 games they had in the bag, but pissed them away from horrible defense, hence all the defensive draft picks.
Statistically, their offense was pretty decent. The only thing that they struggled with offensively was the red zone. Having a healthy CMC should help with that.

Run defense was really bad last year. Lynch mentioned that they focused on defensive line in the draft. He said they were wanting to get some offensive lineman in the draft but when their picks came up, it didn't make sense to pick an o-lineman at that point in the draft. My guess is that the ones they liked were already picked.

Obviously things can change with injuries during the season but as of now the 49ers schedule looks VERY favorable.

If Saleh wants him, this is a good move, right?

I've never been much of an NFL guy, but I have begun plugging in by watching 49ers stuff. Gotta fend off attacks from my two sons, who are cra cra Lions and Bills fanatics, respectively.

Got this from ESPN

>> Upon landing in San Francisco, Huff will be reunited with defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who was Huff's head coach with the New York Jets for three seasons. There, Huff had his best NFL season in 2023, posting a career-high 10 sacks and 68 pressures on 312 pass-rush snaps. That 21.8% pressure rate was the best in the NFL, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. <<

>> The trade . . . includes a restructured contract for Huff. . . . Huff was slated to make $16.75 million in fully guaranteed money in 2025 but the Eagles will take on $9.05 million in salary, leaving the Niners to handle the remaining $7.95 million this season. . . . <<

Last season, iirc, Huff missed 10 games with a wrist injury and did not play in the Super Bowl. But he's only 27, so 49ers are looking at him post-injury and hoping he can regain 2023 form.

Saleh wanted him. From a 49er novice such as myself, seems important.
