NFL: ***Official 2024 San Francisco 49ers Thread***

Figure it's not too early to start a thread for this fall. There are a few odds and ends to post now, such as the McCaffrey extension, etc.

One (polling) question for you all: would people rather have separate 49ers game day threads for each week or do everything in one place like last season? I honestly don't have a preference. There are pros and cons to both ways. But I know some were frustrated with games not having their own thread - I just didn't want to switch gears in mid-season last year. Poll is open for three weeks (until the end of June, more or less). I'll bump it occasionally so more people have a chance to see and vote if news to post is slow otherwise.

I haven't really seen much in my usual places to look for Niners stuff. Doesn't mean it's not out there. But I suspect there will some commenting coming up now that people have reported to minicamp.

I don't think they expect Pearsall to be a replacement this year for BA, but it's telling when an org drafts a WR in the first round when their WR1 is due for a new contract the next year...

I'm guessing the 49ers hope that they can keep BA happy this season, and then next offseason they'll try to trade either BA or Deebo.

They spent a first AND fourth round pick on WR this year. It's not rocket surgery.

At first, I just assumed they would either extend BA or have him play out this year on his existing contract. I was a little surprised when they came out and gave McCaffrey the extra 8 million, during the ongoing BA dispute.. That makes me think it's actually possible that they may trade BA this offseason, if they can get enough value.
