No automatic bids after cross country regionals today

The women finished 3rd and the men 4th. 1st and 2nd automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. Women only missed 2nd by a point so are in a good position to get an at large invite. Men in 4th, not sure but bet if they do not make the championships that Pollard gets an at large individual invite (not sure of the rules for that but he was top 10).

Men are in a very good position (possibly better than women) due to strong regular season which matters now. Both teams are in. Of course, I thought our soccer team was in the NCAA's also but were seriously screwed over for Okie State (we beat oSu on their homefield).

Just for fun I looked at the detailed results. In the women's run the #1 Hawkeye finisher did edge out our #7 runner. :rolleyes:

In the 10 years they have assigned points in the Cy-Hawk for cross country we are 36-4 over them. It's like wrestling for them, automatic points each year.
