I heard that Iowa's MBB NIL budget is around $2mil and that was a deterrent to Devries not wanting to go there. I know We Will does great with what they have and don't have the resources of other programs, but curious what our NIL budgets are for the big 3 sports (FB, MBB, and WBB) to compare with others.

I still wonder how so many people (at least on X) seem to know (or think they know) how much each school has to offer for NIL. I still assume the majority are unfounded rumors since none of it is remotely public. Is it just a few people throwing something out there then others see it & take it as fact?

Only "sources" I've seen are collective staff members claiming they're behind the competition - which is exactly what I'd expect someone who's trying to raise money to say..

Our budget for all sports this sports year (24-25) was around $5 million. Several basketball programs spent more on basketball than our entire NIL budget. Based on the numbers being thrown around with the portal coming up on March 24th, yes we need more. Iowa is a good example of what happens when there isn't enough support and you try to retain or recruit a new coach.

Wow, didn't think it was that low. Its amazing how well our coaches and Brent do to retain these players. Since NIL has really been going we haven't lost anybody because of NIL have we. Except Hunter if you count him since it was before we started a collective. Great Job Brent on your hard work. Fingers crossed it will be enough to keep our main basketball players.

Fingers cross here as well (my stress level could use it)! If we can get through the next three months, I do think more rules will be put in place by the time the portal opens next year. This is hopefully the last of the true wild, Wild West. If you've ever been on the fence, now is the time to help. All gifts are matched for the entire month. Thank you all.
