Five years ago she may have been content to stay and try to earn minutes, in the NIL era there likely wasn't enough money to go around so she will seek it somewhere else - no disrespect to her just the reality of the times we are in.

She won't be getting any NIL money unless it's just a modest share of what the bottom players on a team might get. She was like the 9th in minutes on an #11 seed. She is not leaving for money, that is just silly.

Don't disagree - the hope of what someone may give is likely better than staying.

My opinion is while I'm glad if someone likes ISU so much even without getting the playing time they hoped for then I'm OK with them staying as long as we are not catering to trying to find them more playing time they didn't earn. We need to put the best players on the floor as much as we can to give us the best chance at winning games. Felt that we tried too hard early this season to play everyone and we never got consistent play until we finally narrowed the rotation down to about 8 or 9 players where Williams, Harris, Wilson, and Tanke were the primary bench players. Even then Harris got the bulk of the minutes and unless someone had a hot hand the rest were about 5-10 mpg subs most games.

We obviously need a couple spots to open up if we are going to be active in the portal so the unfortunate thing is someone needed to leave. I doubt Bill's staff forcefully was trying to push anyone out, but I am sure there were some honest conversations with everyone on the roster about what they needed to improve on if their role and playing time next season was going to increase.

The big void that someone currently on the team will need to fill is the leadership role that Emily Ryan did. May not be able to do that with 1 single player but 2 or 3 of the current players will definitely need to take one a bigger leadership role in that aspect.

I'm guessing Addy &Audi step into that role

Some more Big 12 portal news. Of note in her stats this year "recording a career-high 11 rebounds against Iowa State on Jan. 25"

Maybe people do not like playing with Hannah Hidalgo? #5 recruit Class of 2024.

Big names leaving a team that spent time at #1 this season.

Think we will see a bunch of commitments across the sport today / tomorrow as there is a no contact period for coaches / recruits during the final four weekend.

The frustrating thing was watching her in warm-ups hit shot after shot and then in the game being open and missing those same shots. Wish her luck as long as she leaves the Big 12.

No offense but I hate when people use this observation. The end of the bench player could shoot lights out during warm ups but shooting warm ups vs real game action is completely different. No pressure and no defender during a warm up shot or having to work to get open for your shot. People were saying this about JT Rock in the men's thread too about how he looks good in warm ups. Just because you can hit open shots before the game does not mean it will translate into success in actual game play when it matters.

Exactly this. If you ever watch an NBA team warm up you can see any center sit in a corner who has never made a 3 all season, make 15 in a row. In the game they will not even come close to hitting rim
