Niang being Niang

I turned on the Atlanta/Miami NBA game expecting to see Niang take some spot up threes. And just as I started missing his incredible ability to handle the ball and find the basket, he made a few vintage Niang moves and shots.

Now I have to watch the rest of the game.

Georges just had another one. The ball was loose under the basket. At least two opponents were in better position to grab it, but Niang got it and put in a nice one handed over the shoulder shot even with defenders right in his face.

Niang got called for a block when Wiggins (Andrew) charged. When Wiggins missed the first free-throw, Niang comes into the lane with a celebratory fist pump.

Man, I miss seeing Georges at Hilton!

It’s a bummer that Cleveland traded him but honestly he seems to be thriving

He’s so unathletic in NBA terms but the ball goes in the hoop. It’s funny seeing twitter fans trash him for being “fat”. Dude is a bucket. Not a pretty bucket, but a bucket nonetheless.

I’ll never forget the year after he graduated. I was about 5 rows up behind the Iowa state bench at the gsme in Iowa city and Georges was with Naz on the sideline. Some Iowa fans kept heckling him and said “Georges, how’s that G league money?” He looked and made a gesture of his cash shuffling. Look who is laughing now

Took them a while to get him in the game, but now they can’t get Niang off the court.

I like seeing Niang having the ball in his hands looking for shots with less than two minutes on the clock.

Season ends for Georges, but he certainly had a bigger role with the Hawks. I'm sure he'd rather still be playing, but the trade might end up beneficial in the long run.

Hawks have a number of guys out inc Jalen Johnson. Not sure what next szn will look like for Georges but his mins will likely be down. Kinda hope they trade him bc watching the Hawks is significantly less fun than watching the Cavs was.
