125 - I have my fingers crossed but am skeptical. Transfer market did us no favors this year.

133 - not sure who is going to be here. I will say I’m high on the Frost kid in the future.

141 - funny to say that losing Parker we will see an upgrade, but I’ll be shocked if a healthy Swiderski isn’t an AA.

149 - same as 141, I see Paniro scoring more points at nationals than last year.

157 - Cam, Kraisser, judge will wrestle hard. Hopefully one of them will take the spot and score some points.

165 - champion. Don’t care about Missouri or anyone else. He wins it all.

174 - Joel looks great this summer but he also looks really big. Not sure if he can make that cut again. Does Rojas go out of the gate?

184 - Top 5. Great finish to his career.

197 - Top 3 and the arrow is pointing up.

285 - Sam has gained good weight and drilling with Yonger every day on the feet has to help. He’s going to score some points.

Gotta believe it’s top ten with 4 AA’s and some down bracket points.

This will be a big year for Kysen. If he's not scoring points in March this year, I am guessing the staff will find someone else that can, whether that is Perryman/Knopick or being more aggressive on the transfer market.

174 will be interesting. If Broderson or Devine can't cut back down, guessing it will be either Rojas or Gaitan going as a true Frosh. I think Rojas needs a redshirt year for getting to his full potential, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he can score a point or 2 at nationals which would be more than we scored last year at 174

Terukina, Redding, Swiderski, Johnson, and Yonger all have redshirts available, so there are a lot of options.
You be the one to tell Yonger they wanna redshirt him and try coming out of that room alive.

Yeah at this point there is nobody that could replace Yonger, so not an option. But he has 3 years left, right?

What’s the deal on Ramazan?

You think Rojas has the upper hand over Gaitan? I’d think the opposite, but no inside knowledge.

What are you asking peasant like me that question? You’re the king of the info around here!!

But seriously, there is really only one scenario in which he gets redshirted and I’m not going to say it and potentially jinx him.

Haven't heard how Ramazan's dislocated elbow has been healing, but I know people that have dislocated an elbow in the past and it is not a quick recovery. Wouldn't be surprised if he isn't ready to go at the start of the year, which would open the door for either Noonan or one of the Frost twins.

Throwing out 2 names I still have high hopes for. Knopick and Broderson. Although we are going to have Broderson, Coleman and Devine all at 184 this year if Devine outgrows 174.

Was a 160 all year and won the US Greco title at 169.
And from my understanding he didn't really cut much of any weight this past year. You think him cutting a little bit to 157 is more far fetched than him wrestling up to much bigger grown men in D1 college at 174 as a true freshman?

I bet one of them makes the cut. Their only shot at cracking the lineup.

I don’t think I ever said it was more far fetched. I could realistically see either.

My thought is that if we have a true fresh at 174 that Gaitan is a better option than Rojas.

My uninformed opinion and predictions for next years lineup:

125 Kysen is the front runner. Kopnick made a lot of progress last year so I'm not counting him out. Long shot would be Perryman (Fr) from CA.

133 Ramazan another front runner. I'm curious to see how Fousek (Fr) competes with him after a 4 x State Championship HS career. (Could Fousek make the cut and push for the 125 spot... I'm guessing they redshirt him unless he beats some AA level guys)

141 Redding vs Swiderski (Fr) toss up. I'd predict this will be close so they RS Swiderski and give him a year to develop.

149 Paniro Johnson (Cam Robinson might be too small for 157 and take another shot at this weight)

157 This weight will be a free for all... Here's those that I think will contend: Judge (I'm picking him because of experience until someone beats him), Cam Robinson (Second choice - I love his style and aggressiveness), Stotts, Kraisser, Connor Euton (Fr), Gaukel (RFr) will all be going after this weight.

165 DC

175 Devine (Broderson could compete here but I just haven't seen it over the last couple of years, Rojas could also compete but I'd predict a RS)

184 Marcus. Cody Fisher is backup

197 Yonger

Hwt Schyler. Schon will probably RS but he could also contend right away.

Noonan will push Ramazan at 33 and I love Redding but no.

I’m excited about the young guys. We know what we’re getting from guys like Terukina, Carr, Devine/Broderson. Coleman, Yonger, Schuyler.

Swiderski I fully expect to start and contend for a high AA. Can Schon win the spot? Will Gaitan or Rojas force their way into the lineup? Does Paniro contend for AA like he has potential, or does his illness hold him back from reaching that potential?

Lots to be excited about with the young guys, and I think the expectation should be if you’re not a returning AA you’re spot is on the line.

At 41, the hype train is telling me it won’t be close.
