Most of the new stuff appears to be women's gear.

the gameday and Cardinal/gold rules shirts look really nice. The gameday shirt is much easier on the eyes than last years "hit it hard" shirt.
I must also say that those uniforms look better (and more like USC's)everytime I see them.

I think I'm going to go out and buy that #4 jersey that I see. Those look pretty good. I can't wait for the rest of the Nike Elite stuff to come out!

I'm really confused as to what Nike Elite stuff is. I know it used to mean the 5-6 basketball teams that got the tight fitting jerseys. So I take it now Nike Elite just means good NIKE gear?

I mean our stuff is no different than KU, Iowa or most other schools right?

It's not exactly the easiest thing to google either. I would love if anyone could really find out if there was any actual "Nike Elite" program.

Why can't nike and ISU start selling actual jerseys instead of the cheaper replica ones. I am not saying stop selling the cheaper ones but also it would be nice to have an option to buy authentic replica jerseys.

I REALLY like the jerseys. As much as I'm trying to save money, I may just have to drop the coin for one of those.

By they way, anyone notice that normally, when Nike (Elite) makes the jerseys, they use the number of the most high profile player? In the past, we've had 15, 7 and 1. Now they're using 4, Austen's number. Is this a sign that he is the expected starter?

Yes, in concordance with corporations taking an even larger role in college athletics, Nike will indeed be picking our starters this year. Also, the fact that the women's jerseys feature #1 means Todd Blythe is being allowed another year due to medical redshirt for his season shortened by a viral illness.

Which other QB or WR would you choose? Replica college jerseys rarely have a defensive player's number, and the OL obviously gets no love. That leaves offensive skill players.

My understanding of Nike Elite from a merchandise standpoint only --

All merchandise is now made specifically for Iowa State instead of here is a specific color shirt, stamp the logo on it. Because of this, there are more options and not just the default yearly Nike designs.

Hmmm looks like they haven't picked out games yet for the Cardinal/Gold designation. At least the site isn't showing the back of those shirts

From the 2008 Pocket Schedule:

Cardinal Rules Day -- September 6th vs. Kent State
Gold Rules Day -- October 18th vs. Nebraska

I think the shirts this year have no back, they are just more of a "default" look.
