Here a TCU and BYU guy tried to match up Big 12 schools into three rivalries each. Some seem pretty forced. They put Farmegeddon as the top rivalry in the conference, right there with Holy War. The order shown under each school is the order of the rivalry. I would probably bump KU above OSU for Iowa State just due to basketball.

It'll be good for viewership numbers if there are some more heated rivalries in the new Big 12. Not WWE fake rivalries but organic stuff. GMO free.

I'd bet a lot of money on K-State fans saying KU is their biggest rival and not ISU.
KU is absolutely more of a rival to them than we are.....that's mostly typical of in-state rivalries....now KU fans I think still say Mizzou is their primary rival, although they haven't played in football since Mizzou bolted to the SEC...but they've played each other in other sports and it's still a heated rivalry

Possibly…
A lot of K State fans look down on KU fans. I’m not sure what they think of ISU honestly.
We talking just about football here? Because I guarantee it's vice versa when it come to basketball.

Just their fans in general. A common phrase I have heard from k state fans regarding KU fans is “they’re douchey.”

I can’t argue with k state fans about that.

Rivalries can't be assigned. Sorry, that's stupid. Not you...the guy who created the youtube.

Something will happen, organically, as mentioned. Like us trouncing Utah in the last game to win the title, and then a rivalry will be created.
Exactly everything doesn't fit in a box. Houston has OkSt, Cincinnati and UCF. I thought they wanted out of that conference.

I have seen more KU fans talk down Kstate.
Med school, think it's more prestigious, etc.

I would imagine it's a bit like Iowa State and Iowa just in the same conference.

Ag/science/engineering/veterinary school with more in-state students versus the school with the law school, medical school, and more prestigious arts/business colleges with more out-of-state students.

Being in the same conference can make a rivalry more intense (in playing more frequently and for the same trophies) but also less (no "common cause" of being in the same league and under the same media contract and a win/loss doesn't affect the conference's reputation like ISU/Iowa) depending on the situation.

I'm sure they have a lot of the dorks like the many Cyclone/Hawkeye fans that pretend they hate KSU or Wisconsin more because they think it's some dig at the in state rival. In reality I'm sure KU and KSU are more intense about each other than any other school including when Missouri was still in Big 12.

That gets into the debate of disliking a team vs a true rival. I have a lot of programs ISU frequently plays that I strongly dislike but aren't actually rivals. Nebraska back in the day, Baylor, formerly Texas, soon to be Utah.

Kansas I do think has sort of become a true rival with ISU. Look at the all time hardware for Big 12 basketball. ISU is a distant second, but still second, and third is a distant third to ISU. Just the fact that we've gotten in their way more than most other schools in the conference even with our inconsistency means if they have a hoops rival it's us. We'll see how Houston and Arizona do long term and how they do with whomever follows Self.

WVU has no current rivalries in the big 12. Hopefully we get Pitt and VT so that gets fixed. cinn is NOT a rival.

Tang and the K-State media have really made them hateable. I pretty much want them to lose all the time now. Guess that's a good rival.

Watched the video. Pretty much agreed with all of it except maybe the Kansas/Arizona one. I think Kansas has a better rivalry with OSU. But I guess Houston fits ok with OSU. And KU Arizona should be a good basketball battle.
