"Wentz was better prepared than just about anybody we've had come through here from a football standpoint," Gruden said. "He's been in a huddle. He was in multiple personnel groupings. He was calling the shifts, formations, motions and multiple snap counts. He wasn't looking to the sideline for the coach to wave some board."

That drives me absolutely nuts. We wasted years trying to run an up tempo offense (while everyone else in the league did it way better), but our team delayed almost every damn play staring at the sideline. Did they need help wiping their asses as well??

They're developing NFL quarterbacks in ****ing North Dakota. Wish we could something similar here.

Nowhere and Everywhere
We live in north central Minnesota during the summer. Surrounded by Bison. This program has been good since the 1960's. They are beloved by people in the north lands. Bison flags flying everywhere. People simply don't understand the tradition of excellence up here. Minnesota refuses to play them.

For whatever reason the move to FCS has been great to NDSU and the other Dakota schools have either stayed level or fallen off. By the end of their time in D2 UND had completely passed NDSU as the better program. For whatever reason the move to FBS was a rough transition for UND as they were without a conference at first. The only thing non Gopher related that could be bigger than NDSU in the area is UND hockey. I like to jab some NDSU friends that UND's hockey championships are at least at the highest level. They don't take kindly to those statements!!!

South Dakota State has done well in D1 hoops. Also beat Ku football in Lawrence; not that that's a big deal. Both SDSU and NDSU (blood enemies BTW) have done well for themselves. Jacks just built a new stadium in Brookings.

They've done fairly well and have made the playoffs in FBS as well. They just always run into Montana or NDSU somewhere along the way. You could argue that SDSU has surpassed UNI in the conference hierarchy.

From what I understand, this was the final game they will ever play against the an FBS team. That would mean Iowa State, in CPR year 1, would go into the history books as the last FBS team to ever beat NDSU. Not worth, but a fact nonetheless.

They play Oregon in 2020. They also have most of their non-con open the next few years so they could play some more FBS teams.

With its 23–21 win over Iowa on Saturday, North Dakota State has now defeated six consecutive FBS teams. The Bison have more wins against FBS teams since 2010 than Kansas. At this point, losing to North Dakota State is a higher-quality loss than most FBS teams outside of the Power Five (and plenty of teams within it). The Bison outgained the Hawkeyes 363–231 and outrushed them 239–34. Sports Illustrated
