The first criteria (allegedly) for the Hodge is record. So, anyone with a loss should theoretically be out of contention.

Remaining unbeatens:
Glory (125)
RBY (133)
Woods (141)
Alirez (141)
O'Connor (157)
Carr (165)
Starocci (174)
Bonaccorsi (197)
Parris (HWT)

I'd have to think winning your 4th title overrides a single loss

David certainly deserves it but will they really not give it to a guy who won his 4th? Am I missing something?

There are specific criteria, but it's still a voted award. So nobody really knows what will happen.

If Carr wins, he will have beaten an undefeated returning champ 3 times on the season, with the last one being for a championship. Nobody has had a tougher schedule, and he’s only given up two takedowns all year, if I’m not mistaken. Carr (should) win that in a landslide.
Should, but I don't want to talk about until around this time tomorrow night.

Maybe not all the results we wanted this far, but a step in the right direction. Last year we qualified 9 and had 5 go 0-2 and finished 17th with 37 points.

This year we qualified 8 and, even though only 2 AAs, had 3 more in the blood round and our worst performance was Paniro going 1-2 and we know dang well that his future is much brighter than that.

Feels good to see the trend keep going in the right direction and the best is definitely yet to come for this team it seems. Now let’s go get a champ tomorrow night!

Fun fact, the Minnesota 141 (Bergeland) missed weight this morning. Heard he was 15 pounds over last night. That’d be a miserable 12 hours
Funny that’s the story. When I saw he defaulted I thought to myself “weird, he didn’t get hurt? I wonder if he missed weight?”

Sam is hobbling bad at the post match social. Feel awful for him. Think he would’ve AA’d if he was healthy

Agree with this big time. Would have loved some more favorable results, but still another step in the right direction. And we scored bonus points, too. I feel like we didn't get much for bonus last year.

Sam is an absolute warrior, glad he's a Cyclone and I hope we can keep him around at the CRTC. And what the coaches did with him since he came to Iowa State makes me really excited for the future of that weight class here
