My edgy picks
I think someone from Iowa State will surprise us.
I love Mackall's motor as the tourney wears on.
I think Gomez has a chance to be a finalist.
Parker, I look at the same as Mackall.
Degen, I think will at least get to Round of 12
Straw will win at least 1 match.
Coleman, not sure what happened to his m

Gomez is capable of making the finals

I think Mackall could AA.

That is my Iowa State spoilers.

I think Marcus has gotten a little warn down from the long season. He looks smaller than he did at the beginning of the year, and has wrestled a lot of matches since the new year. That can wear down a Freshman who isn't used to the grind. I know he had some back issues towards the end of the year as well that he has worked out. I am not sure what to expect in Pittsburgh, but I still think he has a bright future at 174 for us.

He needs to get physically stronger. Look at most of the top guys at 174 and 184 and you will see strong, physical athletes. Even though Nolf and Nickal don't look big and bulky, they are both physical in their style.

197 - no one else besides top 4

I'm not sure if I'd even go that far, I'd be surprised if it was anyone other than Nickal vs. Moore in the finals. Weigel is a hammer on top but Miklus or Moore aren't going to go underneath him and I can't see him beating both of them without turns. And while I'm obviously cheering hard for Miklus he'd be a heavy underdog to Moore if he gets past Weigel. And nobody is getting past Nickal on the top half of the bracket baring injury.

Edit: Also Smith out of the 33 seed is a definite comedy option at 165.

Great idea! Sleeper AAs:

125: Fleetwood
133: Tariq Wilson (hard to pick a surprise in such a deep weight)
141: Brock (15 seed?)
149: Thomsen (another who'd a thunk 15 seed. I think the Berge pick is right on)
157: Straw (Why the hell not?!! He's wrestled a lot of the field to close losses and has been turning those losses around)
165: Romero
174: Finesilver (can't ignore all 4)
184: DePrez
197: Hokit
285: Orndorff

Then I'd better make my picks official for this also!
125: Fleetwood
133: Tariq Wilson
141: Dom Demas. This ones tough. Chad Red, Parker, Demas, Kaid Brock, Tristan Moran, Max Muran, Matt Findlay (if healthy) all could AA depending on how things fall for them.
149: Anthony Artalona
157: Steve Bleise
165: Branson Ashworth
174: Devin Skatzka
184: Sam Colbray
197: Eric Schultz
285: David Jensen
