Figured this would be the case since they were so hush hush on the new buyer. And while a Sprint Cup race probably isn't coming anytime soon its got a decent chance now.

What happened to Doug Fritz? He always seemed like he had his **** together, but maybe he was just good at seeming like it.

Interesting. I don't believe they've ever done this before. Better than the alternative (Speedway closes its doors) but don't think it gets Iowa any closer to a Sprint Cup race. Only reason I can think that NASCAR did this is so Iowa Speedway didn't go under as its long been rumored the track has some big financial problems.

NASCAR ownership has owned quite a few tracks but most of them are technically owned by International Speedway Corp. I don't know if NASCAR itself owns any other tracks.

He resigned in September to pursue "other opportunities". He was a big get coming from Richmond International Raceway so its too bad he left. Sounds like Iowa Speedway has really struggled to pay its bills and rumor has it that if it wasn't sold, it would be bankrupt. I'm sure that has a big effect on the staff.

All that hot air Rusty Wallace was spewing all over central Iowa was just a bunch of BS. Thanks Rusty for your support. ?
