Looking at getting the wife one for Christmas and need a little help. So far I have looked at the iPod Touch/8gb and the Latte Ice/8gb. For the money and ease of use the Latte looks hard to beat, but I'm also really new to this game. Any suggestions?

I've had 3 Ipod's in a row. Ipod Mini, Ipod 20gb, and I just bought a touch 16gb last month. The only reason I've stuck with Ipod is that I like the Itunes software. If I had to start all over again, I probably would just buy a cheap non-apple MP3 player and use some kind of software where I didn't have to deal with DRM.

As far as what to get, is she going to be around wireless networks all the time? If not than skip the bling, save some money, and get her an Ipod Nano.

I have a 16 gb Creative Zen. I have no complaints. There is a newer version with WiFi access that looks pretty nice as well.

Go for the regular old iPod, as big as you can get it capactiy-wise.

I just bought a Zune, but havent got to use it much yet. It seems like a decent and cheaper alternative to the Ipod that still has good features.
