Wisconsin should absolutely be Cheap Trick.

I always thought Cheap Trick was from Chicago? Not much competition in Wisconsin so I'll go with Garbage, I know they are from Madison.

Let's face it, all those New England States should probably be just one state. Maybe Maine could be it's own state because most people know where it is on a map.

Neither of the Everly brothers were born in Iowa. Might have something to do with it. They do have slipknot beat in total record sales by about 20 million records. 50 million to 30 million for slipknot. The Beatles referred to themselves as the British Everly brothers.

I would doubt streaming is included in record sales, which is how everyone <40 years old gets music these days. Look at each band's top youtube views - something like 429 million for Slipknot to 37 million for Everly Brothers.

When I was in college, the most popular Wisconsin band would have been the Swing Crew, at least in Ames.

Yeah, I knew them and REO Speedwagon are from Illinois. I guess I just lumped Cheap Trick into thst group because it seemed like they always toured together.
Another band from Wiscosnin that's not as well known but still has a solid following is The Bodeans. Probably not quite as famous as Cheap Trick.
