Can I get odds on Matt Campbell:
- taping Iowa jerseys to the floor of the hallway leading to the locker room during hate week
- installing a DJ booth in the weight room for summer workouts
- extolling the virtues of drinking milk
- being fitted for a custom diamond grill when we win the Big XII
- borrowing any other Herman/Briles/Harbaugh related awesomeness

I don't even know what Mr. 2003 means...

The quotes, "Admittedly I get a little frustrated when people talk about Johnny Majors. I respect the hell out of the man" and "For our younger readers" don't really jive with his own admission that "I have only been around since about 2003".

Old guy here. I don't think CW meant anything disrespectful with his comments. I would say that I would disagree that anything prior to the 2000s is ancient history or not connected to today's program. I would argue that ISU football has been on a long arduous recovery from some horrendous crippling decisions and benign neglect that occurred in the 1980s and early 1990s. As we look at our shiny new facilities today, just remember we had a brand new stadium in the mid 1970's and 10-15 years later we were in a pretty bad place. The "this is different" comment says to me it means a lot to have intelligent, visionary and charismatic leadership for the program. As our Toledo friend says THE PLAN!. Hopefully, Coach Matt lives up to or exceeds the Majors comparison.

Of course he wasn't being disrespectful. That guy just likes to troll Chris for some weird reason.

You choose to get upset by some really weird things. Seriously....

The truth: I respect CW as an Iowa State graduate that has worked to promote Iowa State athletics full-time, and I appreciate that we have a well-run, free site where we can discuss the Cyclones. But I find his content and commentary to be completely embarrassing as an Iowa State fan. It's unfortunate that we don't have stronger representatives in the media and instead have to listen to/read CW and Randy Peterson. Do I take it too seriously? Probably.

In all fairness to Williams, he has his hands in many things. The fact that he stills writes columns on here is pretty shocking to me. I'd just pay people to do that crap if I were him at this point. I think he enjoys this job, regardless of what you think of HIS own content realise that he isn't doing this to make you angry...

2003 is nearly a decade and a half ago now. Let's say there's a college student that is just becoming an Iowa State fan reading, it's likely they don't know much about ISU prior to 2010ish.

Reread it. He is quoting someone else saying that and how he usually hates using Majors as a measuring stick because it is different and while he can't share the feeling that it is like "the majors era" because he has been only around since 03' he shares the sentiment that it "feels different". It is really isn't that complex of a thought process to follow. Glad you get a kick out of being an *******, but all it shows is your own immaturity
