Bringing Monday Musings back this year. Looking for feedback on this - the format will likely change... let me know if you want more Big 12, more national (non-Big 12) stuff, more quirky stuff like the UCF thing or whatever it may be.

Obvi, every week is different so we'll see, but let me know what y'all think

It's honestly a little weird to me that I feel like not enough is being said about going two plays 75 yards 38 seconds touchdown on the opening drive of the opening game as that is something we've never done before under Campbell if I recall correctly.

Didn’t mess around, put the game out of reach at 7-0 so he could start playing Campbellball

Wasn't as quick but Dekkers had some big throws against SEMO and Ohio in 2022 for scores.

That season is a good reason to not take the first two-three games as the bell weather.

While we got to celebrate a great catch…that first throw had INT written all over it. A team like Iowa would come up with that ball.

Not exactly sure.
Good self admission by Rocco on a couple throws. For the first game I thought he was pretty sharp overall but there were atleast 3 missed sure thing passes.
His problem area was out sideline routes. Overthrew them. Get those cleaned up and it would have been nearly flawless. I do prefer he overthrew the outs than underthrew them and get a pick six, so that is the acceptable miss out of the two.

Bruns said this on his Sunday pod and I agree, call me a curmudgeon if you want, but I didn't like that first play. Great play on the ball by Noel but it could have just as easily been an INT.

Yep. Like a yard too high. Better than alternative.
Tough to nit pick him because he's so steady but it was something he is aware of.

My reaction to the first play was a lot like the manager from the movie Major League. Nice throw Rocco, don't ever ******* do it again.

Wasn’t the first play from scrimmage against KState in 2021 a 75-yard TD run?

The lighteninged-out game started the same on the first possession and a half.

well, as Bruns said, against a P4 team that first play is an interception. Hell of a play for sure, but it is not the type of call or deep ball that is going to work against most teams.
