Ryan Milhof broke his hand and will not be wrestling this week at Pittsburgh. Was the #14 seed at 125. Believe this means everyone below him (including Mackall) will bump up one spot. This will put Mackall at the #19 seed and face off against Sean Fausz (NC State) who was the #15 seed. Fausz is an extremely big 125 pounder and is very long- pretty tough match up for Alex. It also sets up a second round match up against Spencer Lee if he is able to beat Fausz. Liked his draw better as the #20 seed against Hidebrandt and then a possible matchup against Bresser in the second round..

Agreed. This actually is a much worse draw for Alex.

The one benefit is he gets Fausz in the morning shortly after weighing in. Mackall will have the much better gas tank and as long as he can weather the storm, he might be able to score in the late 2nd/3rd periods

He's still favored to go 1-2 but has a shot at 2-2. I don't think this changes a whole lot.

I'd agree with that. I just liked the chances of a crazy upset over Bresser than I do over Lee. Either way at the end of the day 1-2 is most likely

With a loss first round to Fausz, he would have a path that would look like Bryce West (NIU), then Drew Hildebrandt (CMU) or Townsell (Stanford). Any of those matches are winnable.

If he starts off 1-2, he would then probably have Michael McGee (ODU) or Schwarm from UNI. Assuming the winner out of that match-up loses to Mueller. That puts him against Glory or Fleetwood in the R12. That actually isn't that bad of a path to the R12.
