My apologies if the answer to this is common knowledge or easily found somewhere, but I'm seeing quite a few seniors on this year's men's basketball team and curious if any of them will have any type of eligibility left after this year? Things are just weird now-a-days with COVID years, medical redshirts... etc, so I just never know. Here is who all is listed as Seniors on ISU's website:

Nate Heise
Dishon Jackson
Curtis Jones
Keshon Gilbert
Brandon Chatfield

Can anyone help me out? Would love to see ANY of them come back if possible.

I thought I heard Heise might have another year, but I'm not 100%

= done after this year

Heise and Jackson can play another year.

Wow, I didn't realize that. Jefferson can play next year too?

Depending on Tamin's health and who we bring in that really changes my vague expectations for next year.

Jefferson could get a look next level if he can improve his 3pt shooting. I'm sure the staff is letting him know that.

Still holdin' out hope Pierce comes back, I like it.

It's a scholarship chart. Not a roster. Pierce is gone and probably never coming back, but he is still "holding" a spot on the scholarship chart for this season unless a midyear transfer comes to Ames. We almost had one of those in Warley, but he went with the Zags, so I think it will remain open.

My philosophy has been keep as many guys as you can reasonably justify on the scholarship chart. I've still got Nick Noskowiak, if anybody remembers that tale, still on there from 2016.

There's no reason they can't be damn good next year with...

Senior Tamin
Senior Presidents
Heise and Nojus step into the primary guard roles
Watson for depth

Plus maybe...

Milan as a junior? I'm assuming he's gone to the NBA but maybe not?
Hopefully some stud guard transfer wants to come in to replace Gilbert and Jones?
Maybe Batemon or one of the other freshman has an instant impact?
One of the other guys on the roster (e.g., Rock) really "clicks?"

They don't need much for next year as it stands. Very high floor.

A few key additions could keep the ceiling as high as it is this year (e.g., legit FF and NC contender).

No reason TJ can't keep this rollin' from there...

I wouldn't be shocked to see Milan back, either.

Go find a combo guard in the portal and we're golden.

Thanks, appreciate it. Obviously, losing those three guys for sure sucks, but knowing the other two (Heise and Jackson) likely can come back makes me WAY more optimistic for next year. Having the two Presidents back down low would be huge and Heise coming back would really help as his Swiss army knife role.

Milan has the nba potential but without explosive athleticism I think he's someone who has to show it in college first. Could work out for ISU if he's here two upperclassmen years.

He is pretty clearly improving as a rebounder and defender, it's his promise/upside as a consistent volume scorer I would want to see as a GM.

For those of you saying Milan might go: he's not getting drafted. The dude hasn't shown he has NBA athleticism yet. The jump shot and fadeaway turnaround shot are great, but until he's quicker and more athletic with it, he's going to stay in college. This year, he hasn't shown any flashes of being NBA ready. He's going to be here at least one more year.

Hard to imagine much a drop off next year with this starting five. Replacing Keshon and CuJo will be top priority, but in TJ we trust.

Tamin Lipsey
Nate Heise
Milan Momchilovic
Joshua Jefferson
Dishon Jackson

There's obviously some unknowns, I don't think Tamin will leave early because his size doesn't translate to the NBA, but Milan could go one way or another.

Agreed. There's so much of Niang's game in Milan's style.

It's fun in college, but really does not translate well to the NBA. Niang had to completely remake himself as a player once he got to the league.

I think Milan will have to put up significantly different numbers in conference play than he is right now to leave after this season.

Need a back up 4 and another combo guard that can get their own shots. We get that and I don’t think drop off is too bad. Another top 25 team and another second weekend threat. This year could be special so hoping we take full advantage.

TJ has done a good job finding guys in the portal and if we make a deep run this season it should make ISU an even more enticing place for guys in the portal to want to come. I have a hard time naming a guy that TJ completely missed on in the portal that didn't at least play some kind of important role as a starter or rotation player. We've had more misses with HS kids than transfers probably. I can probably name way more transfer misses under Prohm than I can successes and I was a pretty strong defender of Prohm up until his last season.
Probably going to see a few transfers out too like we do every year. It's already become obvious that TJ is tightening down his rotation to about 8 guys with Heise, Chatfield, and Jones the 3 guys off the bench, Nojus sometimes as the 9th guy but I'd be surprised to see him play much in Big 12 play other than maybe a few spot minutes if we have foul problems or an injury. I don't want to speculate who as there is no point in that but you can assume by end of the year guys that didn't play much may seek a place where they can play more.
