My wife and I only have cell phones, I can count on one hand the number of unwanted calls I've gotten in the last year I bet.

Actually the only unwanted calls I get are from Mediacom and ISU. Hehe.

Thats what sucks...in DSM you dont get Comcast so you miss 1/3 of the cubs games. You only get Fox College sports (Atlantic/Pacific/Central...sports tier) but the Fox sports regional you do get is Midwest with a bunch of St Louis crap on it. I know thats great for Cards fan in the summer but the rest of the year sucks. And the HD channel of Fox sports is only when sports are broadcast Saturday football (great) but the rest of the days its like a wasted HD channel.

Rock and a hard place.

I'm sure Direct TV has it but I know Dish has Comcast and the Fox channel is Fox MW which is fine since they cover the Big 12 and the Cardinals. But in the 440 to 450 range are alternate sports channels and during the summer they always picked up the Brewers on FSM and FSN would carry the Twins and I got some Royals games as well, it was nothing to find 3 or 4 baseball games on a week night in the summer. I have also watched college football games on these channels from other fox stations that I normally wouldn't get to see (usually Pac 10 games). I get all these extra Fox channels on the alternate channels without getting a sports package. I don't get them all the time as in 24/7, but I wouldn't watch them if a game wasn't on anyway.

I have the Mediacom Intro internet right now, it's 3mbps down I believe, it's $19.95/month with a 1-year contract. I had their 8mbps package before and can't tell a difference, and I download a lot...I mean a lot, of stuff.

Did you go directly from the 8mbps package to the intro package (3 mbps)? Our first year 19.95 rate just ended, so I just called to ask about getting the intro package and she said that's only for people who don't already have Internet with them.

I went from their VIP package, so all three services, to the Intro. So yes, straight from one to another. I'd call back and talk to someone else/a manager because I think that guy didn't know what he was talking about.

So glad I dumped them years ago. $54.99 + fees for DVR and such gets me over 250 channels on Dish Network. Plus I don't have to wait on hold for over 30 minutes if I ever had a problem... The ONLY thing I miss about Mediacom is the connections channel but if there is a game on that I just go to the bar and watch.

I'll give DirecTV the edge on sports programming but as far as overall receiver technology and programming packages and pricing I think Dish Network is better. Again, all personal preference with all these providers. Some people do actually like Mediacom I guess...

No matter how many times I see this thread, I can't help but be amazed at the amount that people complain about something like TV. Maybe I just don't watch enough of it to really care.
