Exactly. If this were to happen in March, then I would probably want this to happen but not now. We would be picking from the scraps.

Look how long the Oregon search took, and they have a boatload of money to throw at a new coach. Can you imagine how difficult it would be for Creighton to find a proven coach this late in the game?
- Mac was very successful in the Mo Valley before he went to the Big 12.
- Mac is highly respected among coaches and AD's.
- Mac would at least listen if offered.
- Mac could be hired for $1 million/yr or less, something that's hard to find among proven coaches these days.
- As Steve Alford has shown, sometimes the best move is to get out of Dodge before you're thown out of Dodge.

It would be similar to the circumstances under which Altman went to Creighton in the first place. He had some mediocre seasons at K-State before taking what, at the time, was a significant step down to take the Creighton job.

That makes no sense. At the time we all thought there was no chance those two would be moving on, same thing as right now.
