Dupree was AP before AP. Absolute freak. Unfortunately Ken Fairley was involved which really hamstrung him from a financial standpoint. It was just a really sad story for the most part. I couldn't believe just how positive and how together Dupree seemed to be. I do wish they would have said what he is doing now and how well he is doing for himself. I mean he looked cleaned up and decent.[/QUOTE]

They touched on it briefly at the end. He was driving truck for a firm out of his hometown, and then was hired to help with the Gulf clean-up.

Fairley should be shot for the way he scammed DuPree and his family.

Granted I didn't watch all the 30for30's, but I would be shocked if there was a better one than this. Pony Excess wasn't even close and that was very good.

In my opinion, the two best 30 for 30's are "The U" and the Marcus Dupree one.

The U was good but yeah, the Marcus Dupree one is outstanding. The CFB ones are the best ones, imo.

I agree. The Two Escobars was a good one too. They actually had a marathon on and I watched mostly all of them.

The one about Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic (Once Brothers)? was a really good one I thought as well as "The U." There are some pretty iffy ones but overall I really like these shows.

It was a great story. Truly heartbreaking for someone of his talent to end up how it did.

I think it was great to see, however, the man has a job and gets up and goes to work everyday. How many people who had been where he had been could humble themselves like that? The way his career went, I might have expected him to devolve into a life of crime and drugs.

The thing that amazed me about the show was the despite showing many of his amazing runs, ISU didn't make any of the hightlights. It seems like it never fails that if there is any mention of a former great athlete, and ISU played against them, we'll be in the clips getting run over/dunked on etc. It was a nice change of pace.

It was a great show. DuPree was an athletic freak. 6'2", 230, and running a 9.5 in the 100 in the late 70's/early 80's was pretty much unheard of. It really makes you wonder what he could have been if the people he surrounded himself with really would have looked out for his best interest.
I had this thought too, but it seemed like most of the college clips came from games that were nationally televised, and we didn't play in too many of those.

We played OU that year before they abandoned the wishbone. DuPree didn't have a big game. We lost a close one, 10-7?
