My head hurts after trying to read what he said. Wow... that deserves a:

samjacksonpulp-thumb.jpg

"English mutha****er, do you speak it?"

Here's the thing, instead of blaming the program why not show up on time, put in the hard work, and beat out the guys ahead of you? That seems like the obvious thing if you aren't getting PT. Some of these kids think they are entitled to things without having to work to earn them. Why is society coming to this point that no one takes responsibility for their own actions and it's alaways someone elses fault?

Brister said that "he's got mouths to feed". McDonalds must have a pretty good 401k plan down there!!!

Let's keep in mind that Brister was not an "A" list recruit. He was a fall back guy with some red flag issues coming in - God's Academy background doesn't scream blue chip prospect. He would never had gotten a look if not for the issues with Taylor & McIntosch. That said, he probably did have some hoops skills that could have helped out this year if he was cutout for a college environment. It's pretty clear at this point that he and college are not a good fit.

Final point - after reading his web site, is anyone else scratching their head that he was supposedly a communications studies major? Maybe it's a remedial studies option.

I'm glad I didn't have to listen to him talk in any postgame interviews. Sometimes those are painful.

Not trying to bag on the guy, but does anyone have any of his game-time stats? Something tells me he accomplished even less than he thinks he did.

I agree with mostly everyone else though. You get the starting nod and more minutes by working hard, not by showing up late to a game.

If I didn't know otherwise, no way I'd guess he got a scholarship to a University.

That's what cracks me up about athletes in general, I know you have to have that attitude that your going to go pro....but damn if the guy really was looking out for whats best for his daughter he would stick to one place get a solid education to fall back on if the pro thing doesnt work out. Four years of hard work here could have gotten him possibly a degree and possibly...possibly a shot at the pro's

Doesn't sound like Marcus is too concerned with what's best for his baby:

"Has for my relationship status i am still single and have been through alot and for those who dont kno yes i do have a child on tha way and no i am not wit my babymama and that is not why im leavin Iowa. Im single by choice and dont have time for games nor kids(My Bad)lol, so im very selective wit who i **** wit and hang around"

I'm curious; how would an Iowa State grad do in the job market with a low GPA degree in a general curriculum like, let's say, "General Studies", "Communication Studies", "Interdisciplinary Studies", "Diet & Exercise"

Sadly, I don't think he is. Quote from his page:

Most people his age don't have time for kids. However, those plans suddenly change and you MAKE time for kids if a situation like that arises.

If you're not responsible enough to do that, then you better keep the snake in its cage.

I agree - the "my bad, lol" part just makes me curious. He obviously knows it is his responsibility, he just chooses to be flippant about it and not to follow up on the responsibility. Stay classy, Marcus.

Perhaps this has been talked about but does Marcus give us the double whammy in that he hurts our standing academically?

That bugged me too after reading that. I feel sorry for the yet to be born kid because I'm betting with that attitude Marcus might wind up a deadbeat dad that doesn't send child support payments or take an interest in his kid's life. I hope that is not the case but with some of the things he's saying I think he's going to be treated with a harsh dose of reality here shortly as a result of his choices. Hopefully he grows up some and takes some responsibility for his own actions.

It just makes me mad that recruits leave before they experience iowa or the big 12 coming into Hilton it would make any big school quiver at the knees when setting foot in Hilton and make any recruit not sure if he should be here, 100% percent sure by the end of the game

I interpretted his "I don't have time for kids" differently than everyone else. I took it to mean he doesn't have time to mess childish girls who act like kids and want to play games, hence the part "I don't have time for games".

I wish he would have stayed he can not be any worse than Peterson!!!
