I would think you have a few different options "areas". The Devaney Center is right next to the Fairgrounds and a little bit north of the campus and downtown.

You could stay in the Downtown area. The Haymarket area is okay and you should be able to find some decent entertainment options before and after the game with in walking distance of your place.

The other 2 hotel clusters that would be close and convenient would be around the airport and the other would be the 27th st/I-80 exit. I think the airport area has more options but since it is west would have a little bit more travel. Not that it is much - 2 miles or so.

You could always drive the hour to get back to Council Bluffs and stay at one of the Casinos. Chance for a triple win. 1 on the court, 1 at the casino, and 1not having to stay in Nebraska.

I always stay at the Suburban. Each room has a small kitchenette two tvs and a couple of loungers. good size fridge too. It is within walking distance to all the downtown bars and one block from the alternative lifestyle bar. Rates are good and count towards choice hotel points.
