Shayok bumps past CM after the inbound, and CM turns his back and protects the ball. Shayok follows around him to his left side as MJ walks toward them. Shayok gives a half-hearted swipe across CM's front, and CM lifts his elbow high in an armbar. Looks like there was chirping, and Shayok and MJ are definitely using size intimidation. Shayok then reaches behind to touch the ball - I'm not even sure if he connected with it as CM immediately turns toward him and pushes him off with a forearm. Ref steps between from behind CM to separate him from Shayok. CM is looking at Shayok and holding the ball loosely, high in the crook of his left arm. MJ reaches over and pokes the ball straight through. If you slomo/pause, you can see MJ's hand coming out behind (and under) CM's upper arm. At that point CM forgets about Shayok (who is walking over to the bench) and faces off with MJ. Baer, who has been hovering, moves in to corral CM while TH performs the same service for Jacobsen. Jorbo starts to move in on MJ and Prohm gets there to separate them.

Like Dexter, I'm curious to know if there is past bad blood between CM & MJ at the AAU or high school levels. I don't know much about MJ's past attitudes, but CM was in the news more than once in the past for attitude issues both on and off the court. Plenty of chippiness at the end of that game, but to say this exchange is all on the Cyclones is absolute partisan ********.

Connor is a punk ass. He is every bit the piece of **** his dad is. Fran is a miserable human. He is the perfect example of all that is Hawkeye. There is not a better example of excrement.

Do you?

Talking smack back and forth is one thing, bumping into someone is a whole different level.

"Talking smack is one thing, standing over someone doing it while they're on the ground is another". To me, neither Jacobsen or Connor did much of anything there. Pemsl did.

Then at the end, Shayok and Jacobsen did.

Lol, how anyone can watch the clip you posted and say a single word bad about Connor just shows the delusion on this board.

I get if you want to be mad at him for the stuff earlier with Jacobsen, but he didn't do anything at the end of the game that every single player on ISU wouldn't have done in his position. Most players would've done worse.

False. Most players would hug the ball and stand there and then getting it poked at would be easier to draw a foul. Swinging his elbow and then pushing them away is not what most would do. It wasn't a big deal but don't pretend baby Fran wasn't a key variable in this. Most players on Iowa's team wouldn't have done that either.

Completely disagree. Any player poking at the ball multiple times with 3 seconds left down 14 when a guy is just standing there to respectfully run out the clock is going to piss the opponent off. A raised elbow is the least Shayok would do if the roles were reversed. This place would be absolutely destroying Connor for doing what Shayok did.

Really he needed to throw an elbow? Go **** yourself. You folks are as pathetic as your unstable coach. Connor is punk. He talked **** to a wisconsin player via twitter after Bucky dumped Iowa. Kid is an explosion looking to happen. I am more concerned for the safety of other students and athletes on campus because of the instability of both of those men.

Ha. It may have pissed Little Fran off but there wasn't a foul. His inability to manage his feelings and resorting to throwing an elbow is certainly not justified. The only "ball poking" that justifies throwing an elbow is if some dude is poking at another dudes nuts. Hell the "eye ball poker" certainly didn't get elbows thrown at him when he used his tactic of intentionally poking other players in the eyes. Come up with an intellectually honest justification not the stupid ******** pulled by Little Fran.

Anyone whose played at even a high school level knows how these things go. Things get chippy. Things are said. If you're down you're growing increasingly frustrated, and if you're up you're looking to rub it in. As time ticks away you get even more frustrated and look for ways to make things chippy again. It's all just part of competition. And usually people wind up feeling bad about it once emotions have gone down.

As a Cyclone fan I can honestly say that Shayok and MJ should never have swiped at the ball there at the end. It was a stupid move on their part, but it showed their frustration.

IMO, had that been anyone else on Iowa's team with the ball at the end instead of Connor and maybe Pemsl, I really doubt if any ISU player comes over and swipes at the ball.

Connor is a flat out punk. He does all the things that get under anyone's skin that plays against him and he can't control his emotions either, just like daddy. Look at what he did on Twitter after the Wisky game. Just a total d-bag.

And so when you go up against someone like that, it frustrates you and you just want to punch the kid right in the mouth and put him in his place. But you have to be better than him and not let it get to you. Connor was the one that started all the tensions of the night to begin with on the first altercation. He got in MJ's face and then Pemsl (played the goon role last night obviously for Fran) comes over and shoves MJ. How MJ got a technical in all of that still confounds me to no end.

Connor managed his feelings just fine as evidenced by his knocking free throw after free throw down the stretch.

Shayok, Jacobson and Prohm were the ones who couldn’t control their emotions. Love what Connor brings to the Hawks....

You love what Connor brings to the Hawks? Wow. You sure don't appreciate good basketball then, do you? Let me guess, you liked the Bad Boys Detroit Pistons teams? Connor = Laimbeer.
