Congratulations to Branen Berta who was named B12 Defensive Player of the Week. Goodness gracious, this was only her first week as a starting libero and she picks up this award. How does Christy find these players and how does she train them? This is so impressive.
I can't remember the number of times against Creighton, and even against Wichita State, that their outside hitter had a big-time hit and Berta was there for the dig. I was impressed by her not only getting to the ball, but also keeping it in play.
