The list was extremely opinionated and had little logic. They spent the majority of the article and any song that had a heavy drum to it as an opportunity to rip apart John Bonham. It's like the writer wanted his autograph and got ****** on instead.

This had the essence of a hipster fan boy that feels elitist and chooses to push that on everyone else. "I'm right, and there is no discussion"

Agree with the Poster who is relieved not to see "Stairway to Heaven" at #1...I would put "When the Levee Breaks" this year, since we've had close to 30" of rain if not more down here in the laplands this summer, but "Whole Lotta Love" is just technically impeccable, and even relevatory remastered in HD. (put yer headphones on, Kids) Like, who ever heard Palmer's laugh at the beginning on vinyl?

Gallow's pole and Ramble on are two of my favorites - and got ranked very low.

But like someone said earlier, it is impossible to make a list like this - Zeppelin was just too great to put their songs in order. Plus depending on the mood or day, your favorites can change too much

"Since I've Been Loving You" at 60? Poppycock!

I get the imagery of the band playing in a sparsely populated, dimly lit blues bar. Zeppelin, to me, is a blues band first and foremost. It's their best work.

I think it's nearly criminal to have "The Ocean" that far down on the list. That guitar lick is good enough for the top 10 on it's own.

Also, I've always had a soft spot for Bron-Y-Aur Stomp

"Over the Hills and Far Away" is my all-time favorite song, followed by "Ramble On".

Physical Graffitti is my favorite LZ album.

Physical Graffitti is my favorite LZ album.

I think III is my overall favorite, but they really hit their stride starting with III and continuing to Physical Graffiti. Four straight all time great albums in my opinion.

Black Dog is my favorite -- that is the epitome of rock meets blues. It's a toss-up album-wise for me between Physical Graffiti and Presence.

On the road...
With all of this talk I am going to listen to the whole anthology on Spotify at work today starting at I and going forward.

somewhat off topic--I am sure I am not the first to notice this but the guitar riff in the chorus of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" sounds exactly the same as Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" opening. LZ I came out one year before Chicago's did.

Over the Hills and Far Away is my favorite Zeppelin song. Love the acoustic beginning building to the electric guitar explosive entry out of nowhere. Plant's voice really shines too. Great Page solo as well.

Led Zep is kind of a victim of its own popularity. So many of these songs that I find myself complaining about got beaten into my head by local radio when I was growing up. I could never hear "All of My Love" again and be very happy.

Give me Tangerine, When the Levee Breaks, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, and Fool in the Rain.

A frustration I have with attempting to compile or analyze a Zep best-of — I’m familiar enough with the catalog to do a ranking, but not enough to remember which song is which, based on the title (not in all cases, but many).

Look man, you can listen to Jimmy but you can't hear him. There's a difference man. Just because you're listening to him doesn't mean you're hearing him.

For Your Life at #67...Presence is extremely underrated. Bad list.

So so true. For my money Achilles Last Stand pushes any LZ tune for #1. That ****er turned up to 11 with full bass is a religious experience. Bonham just goes nuclear on it.

If you take out the archive songs they used because it was going to be a double album, Physical Graffiti would look like this.

Kashmir, In My Time of Dying, Ten Years Gone, Trampled Underfoot, Sick Again, In the Light, The Wanton Song and Custard Pie

That's a pretty solid single album
