Seriously no offense intended - but that is why they are 5-12.

Kourtlin seemed like a great kid that truly did have some skill - but when he is your leading scorer at a D1 school, you are going to be in the 5-12 range like Southern Miss.

Hmmm. Didn't know Doc Sadler was coaching there, interesting that he and Larry Eustachy both went on to coach Southern Miss. Hopefully both he and Kourtlin succeed down there.

So. Miss got completely wrecked with NCAA sanctions right as Doc got there, didn't they? Not sure where they are with serving out their penalty, but I can't imagine Doc is on the hot seat considering what he's had to deal with. Takes a lot of mettle to stick with a program in that situation. Glad to see Kourtlin is providing some valuable service to Doc's rebuild efforts. I really liked both of those guys.

Those stats are through 6 games. Where is their non-conference?
Also, he's #2 at 4.7 rebounds a game. #1 has 6.5
And, leading scorer is at 13pts/game also explains a 5-12 record. Especially paired with the fact that only 1 other player averages in double figures.

Checked Yahoo sports and, in 16 games played, kj is averaging 11.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in just under 30 minutes a game. Shooting 38% from three as well.

Hope Doc doesn't get fired this year, but decent chance he does

Do you even know what you're saying? Previous coach Tyndall, and maybe before him, left the program up a creek with serious allegations. Doc and his players are left suffering the consequences. School has banned themselves 2 yrs. in a row from post-season hoping it will lessen NCAA penalties which are soon approaching. Due to that, two of their best players (seniors I believe) are sitting out, in hopes to play with post-season hopes at least. NO WAY Doc gets fired. None of it is his fault. Now, if sanctions forthcoming are so brutal, I could see him leaving on his own.

Still wish there was a way the NCAA could just punish the previous coach and others involved but not hurt the athletes that had nothing to do with it. Shame.
