Embarrassing for who? This will only help the UFC. I'm not condoning it, however.
For all the professionals in and out of the octagon who acted like a bunch of cavemen after the fight. Pre fight buildup and smack talk can get out of hand but once the fight starts, all that drama is done and the fighters and their teams should act professionally. Also for Dana White if he really sees this the way you do and doesn't care all that much because it will make him a bunch of money. Last but not least the people who get sucked in by all this extra bs and get all tingly in the ball sack watching a bunch of dudes brawl and talk **** like drunk frat boys. MMA is a legit sport but this stuff makes it look more like Jerry Springer. Good for ratings sure but bad for the sport's image.

I think it's funny how upset Khabib seems to be about the talk when he's the one who started all of it. It shows how ill-suited he is to these fights and how few big fights he's actually been in. It didn't matter but Conor was quite clearly in his head even though it didn't seem to matter.

The real ******** was Khabibs guys jumping in and going after Conor. That's just insanely stupid and no, comparing this to when Conor jumped out of the ring and yelled at Aldo with clearly zero intention of physical altercation, is not prudent.
Except that isn't exactly what happened. Artem in an interview called Khabib and a *****. Saying he pulls out of fights when is nervous etc. That said I am not a fan of how Khabib confronted Artem in a hotel lobby. However; what Connor et al did in NY is over the top.

Connor has a very large mouth. It got silenced by Khabib. I want to know exactly what CMC bjj said. I have watched video from multiple different angles that schmuck was saying something.

Also Connor the hits on Connor aren't nearly as bad if you see what he was doing during that time. He sucker punched a dude and he is a total pos.

Ali used to do the same **** to Frazier prefight to build up hype. Frazier like Khabib wasnt able to realize it was promotional and took it personally when it benefited them in the level of payday.

Fighters fighting, a company President making a company money, spectators (who like the sport, unlike some of you in here) getting entertained. Yep, really "embarrassing."

What are you talking about? It is what happened. Artem talked **** and the Khabib confronts him when he has a bunch of guys with him then when Conor shows up he's nowhere to be found.

Conor hit Khabib's cousin who was jumping the fence to go join the melee. Once Khabib went after Danis, his guys were fair game. That wasn't a sucker punch either.

You're really going to claim that I don't like the sport? I absolutely do and don't think it should come across like a circus for the sake of making as much money as possible. When I want to see that, I watch WWE. I've been losing interest in the UFC for a long time but not MMA in general.

We agree artem did start the **** talking. So it is ok for Connor to hit a guy that is not confronting him, but it isn't ok for the guys to jump over the fence and hit Connor? Your rules are weird and hard to follow.

Just like ganging up on someone, when you start a fight with the supporting crew, you have it all coming. Sorry. I don't really care about those guys trying to jump Conor. I'm jsut saying that once you start that ****, you no longer have the moral high ground that Khabib so often likes to claim.

One way or another I think there is a rematch. I think McGregor gets off the ring rust, remember he was away for 2 months. I think that Dominique Cruz said it best when he said he believes that Conner will take the next fight different and not try to always land the big punch. He was pressing Khabib and that played right into Khabib's game. I think the next one will be a better fight IMO.

I hear you. I am much more focused on the commentary about Khabib's religion etc. We are looking at this from slightly different perspectives. I am cool if we don't agree...it happens. :)

It would have to be better. He would still lose. He'd have to get lucky.

I haven't examined the footage closely yet, but who was the guy in the red who jumped into the octogon and went directly at McGregor from behind?

That's someone I would ban from middleschool volleyball matches, I'd ban him from ever entering any event I was putting on at any level. It's not like this was a basketball game where a guy ends up in your lap and you throw a beer at him, you're talking about CLIMBING A FREAKING WALL and attacking the main attraction of the event from behind.

Like I said, I'm a little behind but I think it would be pretty easy to file criminal charges and convict the guy. It's actually more aggressive than if I were to rush the stage at a U2 concert and knock out Bono from behind, at least there's no huge wall I'd have to climb to do that. Absolutely insane.

I said before the fight Connor had a punchers chance and that is exactly what he had. Also said Khabib would get him in the 4th round.

When the second fight happens I think the exact same thing is true.

Yeah. I agree. Khabib didn't look like McGregor gave him much of a challenge at all. He had his way with him in the first two rounds, and then stood toe to toe in round 3, basically mocking McGregor's "dominant" striking prowess. And then in round four he got the choke out.

McGregor's game has never been about grappling, and he's totally outclassed by Khabib in that area. He's not going to just get good at it in a year or two.

Wherever Khabib wanted the fight is where the fight was...ground, standing, etc. He is impressive. I have refused to ever watch the video of him wrestling the bear. I watched it for the first time Sunday morning. He was raised to be prepared for this time.

I think Dana would be dumb to make an immediate rematch. Connor needs to fight some strikers like Porier or Diaz and build his credibility up a little bit. Get a couple wins. If he goes back in and get's destroyed by Khabib. He will lose a lot more. Khabib fight will always be there for him. Fight two guys and win. Which I am not sure how he would do again against Diaz or Porier. At least he won't get smoked again by Khabib right off the bat.

BTW my friend is a striking coach at Extreme Couture in Vegas. Said White will not suspend him but it will be NSAC that will do the punishment and White will just go with it.

After White didn't suspend McGregor for the bus incident, a lot of people would cry foul if he suspended Khabib. This way White can retain a little credibility.
