You definitely don’t want to fall below a 3. There’s a big difference between playing say a Clemson to get to the S16 vs a Missouri

And in the sweet 16, you’d much rather play say a Michigan State in Atlanta vs an Auburn for that first game

You ok my man?
I'm fine now, thought we'd lose for sure today. I was at the debacle in Ames when we lost to these guys the first time.

I probably overreacted but this would have been a very bad loss if we didn't play well today. Probably would have dropped us a seed line.

As it stands though, very impressive win today. I was this game in Manhattan last year and it's a very difficult place to win so the guys really stepped up today.

Let's hope we get Keshon back for KC, get a 3 seed, and go from there.

I don’t fault your concern. This is the time of year to be overly-invested

It’s bittersweet, but I don’t think being with or without the current Gilbert is that impactful.

The good news is it’s partially because TJ has established a floor via next-man-in team defense

The bad news is that if we’re near our ceiling, not having Gilbert should matter a lot. And we’ll need to be at our ceiling to make the Sweet 16, let alone FF

We didn’t get hammered in Hilton to KSU because of talent issues. Or lose at Ok St. Blown out at KU. IMO it’s because we deviated from our culture and Gilbert (and others) were a big part of that

I wouldn’t know if this is anything more than a slight disagreement between being hurt vs being injured, but winning without players generally empowers coaches to get their message across, if such a thing is needed
