I'm guessing this is more playing time then chasing the bag.
Anyone with more insight into this than me?

NIL isn't likely to factor in for a player of her caliber. She looks like she finds a lot of joy*** in playing and I am not sure this is the place for that. Hope she lands in a good spot for herself, seems like a great young gal.

Wonder if she wants to play big league or would be interested in a Drake or Summit League school. If she wanted to step down quite a bit St. Thomas would be a great choice academically (really good school). Probably any number of Big 12 school options, league is struggling with rosters for next year.

*** Some of that is based on her running around after the game at University of St. Thomas chasing after Drew. They were both just having silly fun and it was a joy to see that.

With the addition of Jada, this shouldn't have cut into her playing time as Jada will play point. Someone else must be coming in as someone said earlier that they talked to her parents and she was happy here. Just a guess, no inside intel. I will miss her.
IMO it did affect her time, though maybe in a way we should’ve predicted. Jada will take up nearly all the point guard minutes in a way Emily did. That means AJ does not shift into those minutes in a significant way, and therefore doesn’t open up a starting position for both Kenzie Hare and Kelsey.

This sucks. She was probably one of my favorite players to watch last season and a bright spot in an otherwise depressing season. Having interacted with her during the WBB golf outing last year, the joy others speak of on the court is 100% her personality. The group we were with was one of the last and spent probably 30 minutes standing on the tee box and shooting the bull with her. Wish her the best moving forward and will definitely follow her career.

Did not expect this, especially after another poster on this board mentioned that she loved her teammates and Iowa state. But if she wants to play a lot more minutes, it doesn’t seem like she going to get it here.

I hope Kelsey finds joy and success at her next stop. She is one of my favorite Cyclones, and the team performed better when she was playing more minutes towards the end of the season. I think I understand why she's leaving, but she will definitely be missed on the floor next year.

She does love ISU, her team, playing at the P5 level and going to the big tournaments. CBF told her on 3/24 that he was going to sign two from the portal and she’d play no more than ten minutes / game if she returned. Even so, she stayed two weeks before entering the portal - form your own opinions! I haven’t spoken with anybody since 3/24, so I had no advance notice. My guess is another signing announcement is imminent, which precipitated her move. I’m heartbroken for the young lady, who represented the university well in every way possible, on the court and off.

I wasn’t trying to call you out just to be clear, I was just surprised I enjoyed her seeing her play and thought she improved over the year.

I'm sorry but how would you magically know that on 3/24 she was specifically told that information?

I’m surprised it to BF this long. Really hate to see her have to leave and wish the rest would have played with her hustle and attitude. If she gets to make the winning shot against us, I won’t mind at all.
