That's strange that you see a speed guy from Juco getting complimented on his footwork and hands. Good news!

Liked it, Rob. I’m going to look forward to seeing how Darren stacks up to the likes of Kene and Darien on the field, speed-wise.
It seems kind of odd that this kid has really come out of nowhere to challenge for a starting position. I remember thinking when ISU signed him that he didn't have much for offers, other than WV, which was desperate after a few guys bailed on the new staff there.
Guess the coaches knew what they wanted and the kid came prepared to find a spot on the field. Would be fun to see him get behind the Iowa secondary.

I think his lack of offers was due to him being eligible after his freshman year in junior college. Often times these kids get overlooked like Knipfel. If he had came back for his sophomore year he probably would have been a 4 star highly recruited guy.
There is definitely something to be said about this. I would add that in general teams tend to take a more cautious approach recruiting JUCO kids.

I'm not ready to say you should believe the hype for this kid, but usually that's referring to OL or defensive guys.
If Wilson is really fast and can catch, that skill set transfers to D1. WR isn't that complex of a position to learn.
No, I don’t. I mean the two guys I have verifiable 10.5 and 10.6-range 100m times for from high school. That’s one objective measure that’s easy to quantify.
I think it was something like 10.53 for Kene, and 10.68 for Darien—who didn’t exactly focus on the 100. Thus, it’ll be interesting to see how Darren matches up.
Edit: Didn’t mean to say it isn’t awesome that this is the fastest ISU team in a long time. I was simply making a different statement.

I would argue that skill position JUCO's are probably the exception for that though. The learning curve isn't nearly as steep as like a lineman.
