JP tweet re:grass lots Sat

If we get anymore rain the grass lots will be a mess. The grass lots at Farm Progress were a disaster all week. I'm assuming the lots around JTS won't be much different.

Hopefully they don't close the grass lots! I can only remember them closing G7 once (2009?), and they let about 15 cars in before they closed it. Luckily our 4 vehicles were the first ones in the lot and they didn't kick us out.

The UNI game a few years back they closed the grass lots, had to tailgate out at towers parking lots

Really?? Where do you parking at Farm Progress? I was there yesterday (Wednesday) and the North lots were in surprisingly good shape. No mud to walk or drive through. Now, today may be a different story.

No one respond to the lake guys trolling, it's what he wants.

Edit:

Too late, everyone has begun responding to him, making it easy for him again.

South side. Was there all 3 days including today. Tuesday had to drive through multiple areas of standing water and entire area was mud and could only move in 4 wheel drive. Countless people with front wheel drive vehicles stuck in mud on Tuesday. Yesterday wasn't as bad but there was still lots of mud and standing water in the south lots. Today was an absolute mess and part of reason why it was cancelled today.

North the lots weren't in too bad of shape yesterday as they didn't get a lot of use on Tuesday.

Is it in Boone? If so I would be surprised if they were that bad. Really the Ames area hasn't gotten that much rain in the last few weeks, including today. The southwest is the area thats really gotten hammered.

Time to do a park and ride like they do for the state fair. Have a spot in Des Moines and have CYride busses shuttle people back and forth.

ISU will continue to monitor (update): http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&ATCLID=209623461

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University officials continue to monitor the weather and parking lot conditions around Jack Trice Stadium in advance of Saturday’s football season opener vs. North Dakota State.

Officials anticipate there may be very limited, and potentially no, parking in the grass lots but that decision will be made closer to game day.

Alternative parking plans are being formalized in the event that rain continues to fall in the Ames area as forecasted.

The Iowa State Athletics Department will update the status of grass parking lots on Friday and fans are encouraged to check Cyclones.com for further updates. Information, as it is confirmed, will also be shared via the department’s social media channels.

Anyone trying to sell a parking pass is ecstatic with that press release.

And I appear to have screwed myself. I won't be able to get there until 9:30 or 10 so I gave my pass to my folks for one of their friends. Thought was I'd still be able to get in a grass lot and walk to our tailgate. Hope they are open!!!
