We see a lot of people walking to/from the Hyvee parking lot; it's a little closer than KMart...

Hy-Vee's in a tough spot on this one, since Saturday is one of their biggest days. They really can't have that lot tied up for 4 hours like that.

The cars usually park in the upper half of the lot, which I suppose technically belongs to HyVee, but is used by Hobby Lobby customers and HyVee employees. Tailgating isn't an option, but they have run a shuttle from there once or twice in recent memory.

I can just imagine the employees at the door frothing over the idea of actually having customers come into the store...and then they all walk past without going in.

Last couple of years they have had a significant number of people park in the Kmart lot and tailgate there; driving beer and tailgate supply sales. They don't normally get much business though and operate with a fairly skeletal crew and were completely overwhelmed the one Saturday that I went in while tailgating was going on.

It's an 11 am game; what is the rush to get out? Throw a couple of burgers on the grill after the game and let the traffic clear out.

Hopefully they don't close the grass lots! I can only remember them closing G7 once (2009?), and they let about 15 cars in before they closed it. Luckily our 4 vehicles were the first ones in the lot and they didn't kick us out.

I remember that, we were in early also. There was a lot of standing water when we left.
