Amazing climate, much milder summers and milder (though somewhat snowier and cloudier) winters than Iowa, with no tornadoes and far less thunderstorms. You do get hurricanes (tropical systems that tend to bounce off the US eastern seaboard will hit NS every so often) but they are not that strong given how the northernly waters are much colder than in the tropics (at least for now).
P.S. if you go to Canada's Maritimes for moving or vacation, be aware its sales taxes are the highest in Canada, and its services like the healthcare system is the most backed up, due to its lack of industry.
