I think he meant lots of 40-40 games with four minutes to go.

Not sure which team you've watched, but they look top 15 to me. Sure, we played horribly, but a large part of that was that they got in our heads by playing good D, shooting the ball better than us, and taking care of the ball.

Trimble, Layman, and Wells are three quality players to go with some other nice pieces. I think we're better than them on an average day, but their win over us wasn't a fluke either.

Oh come on, they're a solid team, but Top 15?

Mark Turgeon's got a lot to prove, too. He's wracked up some very solid seasons but it's been a while since he's assembled a team that anyone would consider a legitimate threat.

Jon Rothstein had commented in a piece how ISU has 6 (!!!!) guys shooting 46% or better from the field this year, and what an accomplishment that was. But he had this to say about the B1G Ten in the same piece:

Derpth!

Before December is even out, analysts are giving up on the Big 10. But come March, they will convince themselves to let at least six teams in from that dog crap league.

Cut to Jerry Palm's first bracketology that has eight Big 10 bids.

On these boards I see the opposite. I see fans inflating Maryland because we lost to them. We'll see how they do. I hope they have a good year to make that loss seem decent, but after the game I saw people talking about them winning the Big 10 and the only proof it seemed that was offered is how they beat us.

Why not, exactly? I don't think I'm inflating them at all. Having seen a few of their games, the only weakness that I see is they're a bit too reliant on freshmen, but all their frosh have looked solid so far. They have size, depth, play defense, can shoot the 3 ball and play down low. I think ISU's ceiling is FAR higher, but tell me a team in the B1G other than Wisconsin that's better (not saying much I know).

We'll see how their season ends up, I guess.
