Is open for business for Men's basketball....as long as you give $12,500 a year you can get in.

Very disappointed. I thought this was going to be for the common donor who gives, well , less than $12,500 a year.

Maybe if they check ID's as well as they do at Stage Door I can get in

Do you realize how many donors that'd be? There is absolutely no way they could do that in restricted space.

well there are less than 75 people (mostly corporations) who give over $12,500 a year, so they are going to get some very special treatment.

I didn't say let everyone in, just lower the bar a bit to say........$2500

Why make a big deal out of something that is going to only affect less than 75 people?

Um, I'm pretty sure that thing will be consistently filled with way more than 75 people.

75 donors...probably looking at roughly 3 people per donor so we're already sitting at 225...

I have read different numbers than that. Plus you have to figure guests of those 75 will be allowed in.
Also. lowering it $2500 would be way too many people, at least I hope so.

I am glad that it is so exclusive, although I wish the donation requirement was even hire. I also like that they will let NCC members have access for things like game watches.

As of the last count I saw, there were 87 Directors level donors and each could bring 4-6 guests to the MBB game

So say, on average 1/2 attend, 4 and bring 4, then you are at 160-200. Perhaps a little lite, but if you add Victory level, you are way over.

So, it sounds fair.

Has anyone in the Athletic Dept. actually confirmed this amount? Yes, I understand there's not enough room to fit 8,000 season ticket holders in Johnny's, but $12K is a little pretentious. I mean, come on, ISU is a land-grant institution. The University was first built to serve common men and women. Let's leave this kind of snobbery to our dear friends in Iowa City.

This. I'm all for having these kind of things for big donors, but it would've been nice to see Johnny honored in a way that could be appreciated by all the fans.

At least we will be able to see the statue.

The irony of it is, those are the rich pompous windbags that Johnny would never choose to drink with in real life.

Court Cy'd ticket holders all get in also. 4 people per 2 Court Cy'd seats. That fills the place. And yeah the donation amount is correct.

I think you have to give at least $1000 to look at the statue.

Courtside ticket holders can also get in and they are only $5000 level. Plus another $5000 for the tickets, but still less than the 12.5K Director level.

Hardly. Some of the corporate donors might be pompous whatever; sure fine. But a lot of these people actually do go to every game including WBB and know everyone. Guys like Mike Lacey come to mind. He goes to everything ISU; Grid Iron founder.... The Sukup brothers are big donors and actually attend events; also good guys to hang out with.

But yeah stereotypes are cool.

Pump the brakes here a little bit. I mean this set of people must have a lot of love for Iowa state, or owe them for some of their success and have the means to give back. Why hate on someone that is donating to an institution we all love?

I am not saying we bend over background for this level of donation, but I don't think we need to insult them either.
