Did he get busted for counterfeiting or were they bad enough fakes he didn't get into to much trouble?
Juveniles. They weren’t the best I think but a few got used, don’t remember all the details but they got caught because someone saw a couple franklins laying under the car and then others in a car.
Yeah, I never knew exactly where they lived. Some were clear lake and some were Newman in that family.
I remember that happening and if I remember right they got a slap on the wrist and no federal charges I believe he was 16
No federal charges. He and Tucker Weber were 16 so charged as juveniles. I don't recall if they even missed any of the wrestling season.
They went out for another sport that was before that (first time for that sport) and served their suspensions there. Clear Lake then changed the rule that the sport only counted if you had participated in it the prior season.
That is what I thought happened. I believe they participated in cross country for the first time.
Yeah, there was a football player who suddenly appeared on our track team when I was a senior. I was like, "what the hell is he doing here?" As I recall he was suspended for the first couple of meets but nobody knew why. He could have been a pretty darn good 100M/200M guy but he just goofed around while the rest of us slubs scratched and clawed trying to make what little talent we had into something. Of course he didn't turn out to be anything in football after high school either.

My son is struggling with times this year. So is our fastest football back. Last week my son said, well, it’s probably since we are 15 pounds heavier for football.
That was the high drama time for clear lake schools. A lot of cray cray all over.
With Gary Weber leading the charge. They were the worst. IIRC, there was also an issue where one of their guys missed weigh ins at state. They claimed they were given the wrong time, and it Gary’s fault, don’t punish the kids, etc. The state didn’t want to deal with it so they let it slide even though everyone knew the kid was late because he wouldn’t have made weight and needed the extra time.
