I ran into Jerry Cluver working at Hy-Vee in Urbandale today, I talked to him briefly but did not get to ask if he was still working at Earl-May. He did tell me he would be in charge of Hy-Vee's lawn products section this spring. Heck I wish he would come over and help me do my yard work:)

Re: Jerry Cluver

That guy is nuts, he has so much energy all the time. He must have about 40 cups of coffee before coming on the air.

Re: Jerry Cluver

It is spelled Kluver and he is working at the Hy-Vee on 86th Street. He will do great things for that store ... I can't wait for Spring to see him in action

I didn't realize Jerry was a free agent this offseason. I wonder if he'll still be on Channel 13 this coming season?

I was watching Ch. 13 news a month or so ago and they made an announcement that Earl-May was moving in a different direction and that Jerry could no longer appear on their Sat. morning show either. He is very energetic and was always fun to watch! Best wishes to him in all he does!

He will not be on channel 13 this year as that was a Earl May sponsored show ... I'm quite sure Hy-Vee will do something with him though because all those little old rich ladies love him.

Earl May just lost my business. Nice job people. What kind of "different direction" do you want to move that involves canning Jerry Kluver.

We were next-door neighbors for a number of years in Ankeny before I moved away a couple of years ago. Awesome 1st class guy.

Jerry is very slick, I have no gardening or planting skills whatsoever, but after watching him for 10 minutes I'm ready to tear up my backyard and start planting anything that would remotely grow.

He may look like a boring old man, but no, he has power, especially over rich old ladies.:wideeyed: (I have no idea what that means btw).

Come on Fick!!!! Jerry is a master gardener, he had a segment on saturday mornings on channel 13 where people would call in with gardening questions.

Side note on Jerry: His son Cory was a long snapper on the Cyclone football team.

INSIDER INFO: Jerry leaving Earl May is directly tied to the Mitchell Report...not accusing here, just saying he seemed to recover from off-season surgery pretty quickly.
