He led the nation in tackles LAST year! He didn't "benefit" from it at all, WE did.

I'm not sure I follow you here. Ace's first year here was in 2005. He played in every game, but he didn't really make an impact until 2006, the year he led the nation in tackles.

KMAC- Looking back in my post, I think I may have worded it a little wrong. I think we should get around 4 this year, then down to 2 or 3 after that. Looking at the list you made I would go with 1 OL, 1 DL, 1 CB (in addition to Graham). Then another WR or other position if the coaches truley believe they will make a difference or possible depth problems this year and next.

I would rather be handing out a scholarship to a HS reciever this year then another JUCO WR for the fear of in 3 years we will have few WR's with the talent/expierence to be good players. The only problem with this is an injury or 2 this next year and we might look like Iowa did this year at WR, not good.

You talked about KU improving recruiting, do they recruit a lot of JUCO's like K-State. It did seem to work well for Snyder back in the day.

They signed 4 jucos last year and have 7 offers out with a similar number of interested players as do we...That said, it appears they focus on WR and CB for recruiting JC players. May be they use the juco ranks as a filtering system because these two positions are such hit and misses and these are two positions you cannot afford to have inferior talent in the big 12 or you will get beat down (see ISU vs KU this year).

All i'm looking for is improved talent at the WR and CB spots if its HS great - if its Jucos i don't care, i think in looking at all big 12 teams, those two positions to me, IMO are the two that we do not match up well as a group to other big 12 schools and that really puts us behind in the big scope of things. I think Chiz is building the two lines the right way and i have no doubt in the next two years, when his recruits are working through the system our line play will be AWESOME, not good, not even great, i think our O-line will be dominating people....i love the fact that the two best HS lineman you recruit you redshirt and get their bodies up to big 12 level, so they can go out and compete, put those kids in this year and they get beat up.... I know its a bad analogy, but, thats how Gable built his championship teams in wrestling, everyone redshirted to ensure when they were 1st year wrestlers, the body was ready and had been built for the battles against guys 4 years older then them, they could compete physically then it came down to technique and he felt his taught techniques were better then anyones....

Hearing Black and Big Trey, they understand and feel its in their best interest to be ready physically, thats just awesome cant wait to see the spring game with these two guys....will be awesome.....
