I know Jason will be a fine back someday, but I was scratching my head when Jason was our running back when ISU had a first and goal at the five. ISU eventually settled for a field goal when a TD would in all liklihood put the game away. Seems to me, Hicks should have been the guy because of his expierience if nothing else.

I was just glad to see that he can play! Its nice to know that we have a backup if something happens. The running game was also doing pretty good last night.

That was about the worst possible situation to put in Scales vs Stevie. The biggest knock on Stevie is that he can't break the big run and then you take him out on the five yard line? Seriously...

Stevie kind of reminds me of Bettis (not as big or strong obviously) in that he will reliably get a couple yards per carry. I don't know why you take him out and give it to Scales for three straight plays when he hasn't seen the field before.

Scales will be useful durring the season though, that was obvious.

The problem wasn't that he was in the game but with the
play calling. Why do you try to pound him up the middle. Use
his speed and try to get him to the outside.

Uh, I would blame that completely on the O-line for flat out not blocking. Twice Jason got the handoff and was immediately hit. Mac and Cotton wanted to get Jason a TD because of all his hard work. I really don't know what Jason did wrong. I'm glad to see him healthy.

Yeah, the poor senior dominated o line is niot blowing out like we need and hope for them to do. Did anyone notice UNLC ran 9 more plays than our team.

The fourth quarter continues to be a shambles for our offense.
