Barnett is pretty much the same as Jantz IMO. Jantz has better legs and playmaking ability, but Barnett is a touch more accurate and tends to make fewer mistakes. However, Barnett almost had three turnovers, but had a little more luck than Jantz did.

1. Fumbled the ball (went out of bounce)
2. Pretty sure there was a fumbled exchange b/w Barnett and White, but somebody jumped on it.
3. Threw a couple balls right into A&M players hands, but they dropped and and/or our wide receiver made a play to make them drop it.

I agree with you, they aren't THAT much different. Barnett isn't a bad QB, he did overthrow a lot of receivers, and receivers also dropped a lot of balls. He could have easily had some turnovers. Jantz isn't as bad as many of you are making him out to be, he won the QB job fair and square and he led us to 3 wins earlier in the season. Has he been perfect, no. He never was, while he led us to those 3 comeback wins he wasn't perfect, to say he needs to play another position is jumping the gun a little bit in my opinion.

I totally agree this thread is jumping the gun. I saw Jantz's passes in the first quarter, and they were mechanically not good. That evidence leads me to believe Jantz's foot injury is bothering him a lot more than anyone is admitting to, i.e. Jantz's base is not good. I've had both athletes and coaches tell me that when your base is not good for whatever reason, then your quality of play won't be either. I'm sure the time has passed to put Jantz on medical redshirt, but that foot needs time to heal. Jared Barnett needs to goo the rest of the way at QB. If for any reason the Cyclones need to play Jantz a QB, it won't be pretty. Let Steele's foot and confidence heal for the remainder of the season.
