It hadn't dawned on me until I read The Athletic article this morning that contained this line:

"The physical capacity [of Jack Trice Stadium] has increased from 55,000 seats to 61,500 over that span, making it the Big 12’s third-largest stadium behind Texas and Oklahoma."

If/when the Shorthorns and Swooners join the SEC, we will have the largest stadium in the Big 12!

That's a great point. Hadn't occurred to me either.

1) Biggest stadium in the conference.
2) One of only two AAU members.
3) Highest attendance numbers.
4) Travel better than all other schools.
5) ...
6) ...
7) ...

It's kind of strange thinking we are kind of the Big dog right now in the Big 12 with them leaving. Top football team, Womens basketball, and pretty good historically in basketball.
But also:
Bottom basketball team, nobody cares about wbb (in general), historically awful in football.

I have lots of comparisons running through my head and I don't think any of them are still PC...
Sufficed to say, this is not impressive or helpful.

Too bad when we go G6 they'll remove the upper deck.

Yeah I wouldn't go that far. We're at least giving ourselves a chance to be selected in the upcoming conference draft. 25 years ago, we would've already been in the AAC or worse.

I am not anywhere close yet to being amused by this.
